Who would have a thought

So the 4th of July started out like any other in Illinois, rain. This year my family's OBW reunion was at my parents pond. The tent was set up which was a good thing with all the rain. Once we got a break in the rain, the kids starting playing in the water. Olivia and Marie jumped off probably 20 times. I also got to throw the opening keg toss in memory of Josh. For those of you that don't remember look back on the blog for last July. I am too lazy and tired today to post a link. Shortly after this toss Olivia starts to cry saying she stubbed her toe. I being the great mama told her to shake it off and get back in the water. A few moments later she comes out screaming and I notice that the top of her foot was red. So my aunt who is a nurse took a look and somehow Olivia had managed to cut in between her 3 and 4th toe on her right foot. So we go to the house and clean it out and it doesn't look to bad. This morning when Olivia got up it was noticably more red and swollen. So off the the ER we went. After a healthy injection of antibiotic and a script we are back home. I had debated about taking her but glad I did as the ER doc said he was surprised it has gotten that red in less than 24 hours. We are now resting comfortably at home.

Poor, little Olivia. :( She'll be up playing real soon. We'll have to set a play-date for my house soon.

Poor Baby,
She did have fun playing and swimming, but what a memory. You were right to take her, cellulitis that soon is nothing to mess around with.
The day was good even with the rain, and the memories were good to work thru. I am glad we did it.
